A protection relay has to trip the right circuit breaker within moments of a fault. That is why an installed relay is not considered commissioned until its functions have been proven in the field. On protection and control projects we take responsibility from relay installation and parameterisation to IEC 61850 communication and the final signal check in SCADA.
We work with ABB REX615, Schneider Electric Easergy P3 and Siemens protection systems. On retrofit projects we remove legacy relays, replace them with new-generation devices and revise the secondary wiring and control circuits inside the cells. During commissioning we verify protection functions with secondary injection test sets, perform trip tests and confirm end to end in the field that every status, alarm and control signal reaches SCADA correctly.
We have completed the installation and integration of 2,171 ABB REX615 protection relays on the SEDAŞ distribution network, and the installation of 458 REX615 relays is under way on the UEDAŞ project.
